One day whisky tour to Perthshire

Depart Edinburgh and head west to South Queensferry for views of the magnificent Forth Bridges, we then continue over the bridge and north in Perthshire. Perth is the spiritual home of Scotch, with Bell’s, Dewars and The Famous Grouse all being born there. North of Perth the tour will cross into the Highlands, and we arrive at our first Distillery – Blair Athol. This fantastic distillery is a great introduction to the art of whisky, and the taste is superb. Afterwards, we will take you up the hill to Edradour distillery, the smallest and most picturesque in Scotland. After lunch in a local inn, we will take you for a walk, and there is a chance to visit a stunning castle, before we cross the mountains, and begin our return to Edinburgh. If you don’t fancy the castle, then we can easily fit in another distillery.

Three day whisky adventure......

Day One:
Similar to above, except the tour continues north over bleak Drumochter Pass to the heartland of Scotch – Speyside. There would be a chance to visit Dalwhinnie distillery, the highest in Scotland. The overnight accommodation would be in the Aviemore area, in the shadow of the high Cairngorm Mountains.
Day Two:
This day is spent exploring the distilleries and countryside of Speyside. Included would be visits to Glenfiddich, Dallas Dhu whisky museum, and the Craigellachie cooperage (where the barrels are made). We would then return to a wee whisky session in a local hotel
Day Three:
We head north to Inverness, stopping at Culloden, site of the last battle on British soil, and a chance to blow the cobwebs away. From Inverness, we turn southwards to Loch Ness, where there would be an optional boat trip, and some monster hunting. After lunch we will take you for a walk in the mountains, before continuing south to Edinburgh, and a special whisky tasting, or ghost tour.
